Tokiva VOIP for free phone calls

Since Jaduka stopped offering free worldwide calls (it still works for many countries but not india) Free Phone call was eagerly waiting for a new free VOIP startup for free phone calls anywhere in the world. It seems we finally found a solution for the time being and it lasts long.

Tokiva VOIP (Canadian VOIP firm) has developed a global mobile VoIP platform (MVP) that connects VoIP with mobile operators in over 200 countries world wide. Tokiva offers free (15 minutes but you can get more, read my TIPS below) and cheaper calls to over 200 countries including India. The only country not available is north korea. Well besides Bush who else wanna call north korea :-)

Users can use Tokiva through a simple web based interface very similar to Jajah or they can download a tiny application on your mobile and connect through WAP.

Now you guys must be wondering how to make Free Calls with Tokiva. Well it's not a big deal. Tokiva offers free 15 minutes call per new registration (They do verify email). You get more free credits if you invite your friends to Tokiva, so more free minutes are credited to your account for each signup. I guess its about 5 minutes per signup. Considering you get 50 new friends to signup, thats like 250 FREE minutes, what else you want for free? :-)

Go Signup at Tokiva and make Free calls worldwide.

Gizmo project VOIP to interoperate

About couple of weeks back, VOIP Guide discussed how important it is for VOIP companies to interoperate with other VOIP providers and provide a single access platform for users. I guess Gizmo Project is slowly moving towards it. They atleast made an attempt by providing access to other messengers such as AIM, MSN, Gtalk and yahoo messenger. However it's not really VOIP interoperability but now users can call their friends on MSN, Gtalk and Yahoo messenger for FREE. They can now use only Gizmo Project to call them on different networks.

Besides this, if you don't know about Gizmo Project. Its a a great VOIP service, to make free calls to many countries not supported by other softwares. I strongly suggest you all should read our Gizmo Project review and guide. This guide should help you understand how to make free calls with Gizmo Project.

Besides that Gizmo Project is a exception VOIP softphone and provides some exclusive features such as Asterix PBX support, SIP compatibility, A free incoming number, free voicemail, free conference calling and many other.

if you don't have Gizmo project yet, it about time you should download gizmo project

No free voip calls to UAE now

About a couple of days back, Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) in UAE announced that they will allow VOIP operators to provide cheaper voip calls in UAE region. Now suddenly they supplemented their initial announcement saying UAE will not allow any free voip services and only Etisalat and du will use VOIP for their services. That means more monopoly and less cheaper calls to uae residents. Yes dudes, its time to totally forget free calls.

Its a wonderous thing, when the western countries are looking to increase VOIP penetration why the east is so obsessed with traditional PSTN lines? Let us agree that old is gold but Some things need to change, especially in indian sub continent and middle east where markets are not run by customer's sentiments but more by what telecom companies want.

In asia largely in indian subcontinent, telecom regulators are puppets. They are the perfect seat warmers, all regulations are framed and done by the telecom operators for their own benefit. Even today, DID termination in India is illegal. Why on earth its illegal coz some companies loose money? Why don't you make it legal and let the foreign operator pay you a fixed levy? This will never happen unless telecom companies stop calling the shots. We all know that will never happen.

Lets get ready to pay more for making calls (forget cheaper) to Dubai and rest of the middle east.
